Farewell As the curtain falls I disappear, a last soft echo in an empty ear, the dust of footlights drifting through the air, no hands to clap, no eyes left left to stare. The painted moon folds up its borrowed light, the velvet red dissolves into the night, and every line I spoke, each practiced tear, turns weightless as the word “sincere.”I leave my shadow hanging on its hook, my name unwritten in the program book, a whisper smudged along the prompter’s page, erased between the spotlight and the stage. As the curtain falls I disappear— but somewhere in the dark, a single chair remembers how my heartbeat shook its frame, and keeps, unspoken, the outline of my name. I am moving to my bug out location. See ya all on the upside. I did appreciate you all. Thanks | ||
