What you're seeing above in the photo is the end result of that latest hyper-sonic missile strike on Ukraine by Russia.
This new missile was launched 2,000 clicks away in Baikanour space facility. It does not use a ballistic re-entry as does conventional IRBM's. It climbs to altitude about 50 clicks and then flies horizontally, skimming the atmosphere for lift and thus gaining range.
