There are the typical plot elements: hero is a retired SF guy, the wife is an helpmate who makes a mean sourdough loaf, the kids are the usual distribution of a dutiful son and a flaky daughter. Still, the plot is well developed, the writing is good, and there is a fair amount of moral ambiguity, even around the supposed good guys.

So same shit only the names were changed.
