Those turkeys are a riot! Our town has a turkey that perches on a guardrail of our "highway" and will occasionally decide to stop/direct traffic or chat with a motorist. I enjoy seeing the turkey on my way into town.

The story is that this turkey has lived there for a long time, not sure who he belongs to as no one has claimed ownership.

The turkey gained popularity when the paper wrote a story on him. A FB page was started and people from all over would flock (heh) to see and stop to take photos of themselves and the turkey and mucking up traffic. FB mods have decided to relocate the turkey to a safer area. I unjoined the FB page, as people were starting to get really stupid about the photo ops and the relocation talk.

I wish the paper would have never written that article. Sometimes it's best to leave things alone and not make a big deal out of it. I would have loved to see that turkey with a knife in its hands slashing the tires of some of those stupid people.
