This comment and the comment from Brutus above shows just how little they know about that area. They are thinking in 1960's and 1970's terms still.

The straights are on one side lined by mountains and cliffs that stretch for over 50 miles--the are literally peppered with cave and hidey holes where the Iranians have dug in thousands of anti-ship missile positions... impossible to dig out by any means. Also these positions have mobile launchers and the whole area along the straights are heavily protected by air defenses.

The Iranians have been preparing and waiting for such an event like what is now unfolding for years now.

The are not just going to sew mines and and use suicide speed boats FYI. What would be effective is if we were to bring out these old WWII battleships (as they would with their armor be largely immune to such fire) and use the heavy guns to blast out these positions. But that's not going to happen even if they wanted too, as there are few projectiles left, no spare parts or gun barrels left and largely no one left alive (or willing to be drafted) who really knows how to operate these guns in the first place.

And yes, the Iranian can wreak havoc in the Straights of Hormuz for quite a while. And all that while gas prices are going to shoot throught the roof like a rocket. Closing the straights will shatter economies around the world.

Hey Shit-stain (you fucktard)......

There's no "straights" of anything.

First of all, it's the STRAIT of Hormuz.

Second, there's only one. There are not multiple Straits of Hormuz.

Third, B-52's and B-1's dropping endless sticks of 1,000 pound dumb bombs can bring a hell of a lot greater weight of fire against those mountainside hidey holes a lot quicker and a lot more often than broadsides from 80+ year old battlewagons, even if they were still in service, manned, and loaded.

You idiot.

Shinny: everyone is entitled to their opinion. Brutus just stated his take.
Most aren't privy to the kind of info Shinny possesses.

We are merely the messenger. The message? It's blowing in the wind.

Plural or singular--Straight or Straights... it's a fucking narrow channel you blithering, drooling ponce.

This war has the high possibility to devolve shortly into a nuclear nightmare.

You WILL NOT BE ABLE to bomb these anti-ship launchers out of existence. They will shut off Hormuz for an extended period of time--and you will back east, in that shite-hole where you live will be facing 9 to 10 dollar per gallon gas if you're lucky as the price per barrel of crude on the market will zoom to over 200 per barrel.

Iran just launched an ICBM. Max was possibly right when he speculated that Iran had a few nukes provided by Pakistan. The situation is devolving in Iran so much so that they will start to activate more desperate measures once US planes show up over the country... so pick out which of your ships you want to go down burning with all hands.

They are now dipping into their hypersonic missiles stocks now--and I bet some of them are armed with tactical nukes. Just two hits on Israel would end that country BTW.

Hopefully this speculation about terror squads prepositioned here in the USA are just that, speculation. When the USA overtly starts to act--if true, then these may be put into operation.

Every fuck-nut Christian-Zionist is now slathering and drooling for this war to expand thinking that this is the beginning of the 'end-times' And it may possibly be the 'end times' in that they will be ended in a nuclear war soon. You will note that everyone on that Kooky site is completely clueless about the impending ramifications.

AIPAC and the Israeli government's decades long propaganda programs are now paying off it seems. Now you can see who truly controls our government.

Turkey announced today that are backing Iran along with Pakistan--Egypt is also going to come aboard this coalition.

Trump got suckered big time on this deal. I don't think the MAGA movement will survive once it all is done and said.

The Maga movement is currently experiencing a split, due to both ideological differences and disappointment concerning Trump having caved to the neocons:as the chasm
widens, so do the dangers.

Two U.S. Army soldiers deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Inherent Resolve died this week in non-combat incidents.
Just heard. Yet to be confirmed.

Yes it can, and I hate to think of what tricks Iran has hidden up their sleeves. If I were in charge of Iran, I'd have multiple rat-fucking contingency plans ready to set in motion.

Their response could be anything from a nuclear attack with stashed warheads, to terror attacks unleashed here, to poisonings/sabotage of water supplies to grid attacks.

Iran would most likely go down in an intensive war, but in the process they would kick several teeth out from the Israel as well as ourselves.

Will it be worth it?
If the damage is extensive here, or we take some serious casualties--how will people react here?

Other than the shit-stain Brutus, who will pump his hand in the air, standing in nuclear ashes shouting, "Murica!"

I am also wondering just what kind of backroom negotiating is happening between these Islamic countries who are backing up Iran now. if push comes to shove, will they step in with kinetic measures? Probably. Also probably Russia as Iran in at their backdoor--and they do not want NATO influence down there.

I am awaiting for some last moment deliveries from Amazon for my euro-gas-cans to top off my emergency fuel supplies. Needed a new spout, plus seals and the local surplus store (Major Surplus) won't sell them anymore, but you can order them on Amazon. Go figure.

https://www.amazon.com/VALPRO-...2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&psc=1

I highly recommend this style of can--they're bullet proof.

https://www.amazon.com/Wavian-...-Style/dp/B07R8M3SB7

You can purchase used surplus cans at surplus stores. The trick with these are that they are lined with a red sealer. The cans should not be dented. And you should open them up and check them out with a bright pen light to make sure the sealing paint is intact and not rusted. If so you're good to go. I've had mine (at 15 per) for going on 20 years now and they're like brand new inside.

But if you can't find the good cans, those red cans from Harbor Freight are good enough--but I'd take them, rinse them out with denatured alcohol and give them a coat of tank sealer to prevent long term rusting. I think there are better aftermarket/MacGyvered spouts to be had for these cans....
