JefinerSupposedly 300,000 people attended the memorial. 100 k were in the stadium, around 30 K in the hockey arena next door and the rest camped out in the parking lots around the stadium watching the service. There is no helicopter or drone covereage (it was a no fly zone) but the crowds captured on camera were massive.
Uber was apparently charging 800 bux for a ride to the stadium. Surge pricing I guess.
Nevertheless, it was impressive.

BrutusIs it just me, or did anyone else here have at least a minor problem with Trump's order to lower flags to half staff over the Kirk murder?
Kirk seemed to be a fairly solid conservative Christian, even though I couldn't have been more opposed to his pro-Russia stance on Ukraine, but he was *NOT* of service to the US in any sort of official capacity. Had he been a government official, member of the military, etc., I could see it, but he was not.

MAXIMUS PANDAMONIUSCharlie's passing WAS a large turning point for CONUS. Kinda like 911 without the wreckage.

I don't disagree, but I still think flags at half staff are wrong for a total civilian.
MAYBE if he was a military veteran and hugely popular the way he was, but.......

Pro-Russia stance? Kirk was absolutely correct and spoke to truth on this. Too bad that truth hurts so much.

I agree. I thought it was odd, but then if we can rename streets for thugs like George Floyd, it is just a small amount of weird.

Yeah, lots of wrong things in our society that need to banished to the outer darkness.
