it's close, but on the other side of Echo Summit, in the Tahoe basin. we can see Echo summit from here. we've never had fleas here, been 20+ yrs. we didn't even had a tick issue until our 2 LGDs got old and couldn't keep up with the deer.. stepped out one evening to see the younger of the 2 sound asleep w/a half a dozen does munching grass a few feet from him. lol now we have 2 Siberian huskies & they keep the deer in check
