From GLP: https://www.godlikeproductions...1/message5818558/pg1 Was just on Sam's for a few things, here's what I saw and experienced: 1 - Many staples are out of stock online (salt, pepper, spices, PASTA). 2 - Had freezer paper in the my cart, just a couple of rolls. When I went to check out after shopping for some other things they kicked it out of the cart as it was no longer available. Last time I saw this behavior was the plandemic. We're in the boonies so delivery is far easier and cheaper, we've got a few things put back so none of this was a show stopper. One will probably do better if they can go into the club itself. Get your shit now, it's starting again. And TP....don't care, took care of that loooonnnggg ago. .=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=. Repeal the 19th.

Dunno nuffin 'bout no TPs. Guess the rolls of soft, white Xmas wrapping paper will do though >>> "LIVE! Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death. LIVE! LIVE! LIVE!" Auntie Mame >>> I never asked for trust funds. They were thrust upon me. Have pity. <<<

The way a lot of people don't keep any supplies on hand just boggles my mind. What is their usual stock of TP - like one 4 roll pack? Just with TP for example - at any given time I've got multiple 12 or 16 roll packs on hand stacked up in a spare room, and I'm just a single guy. I'm a sale shopper and I'll grab another pack or two every time it's on sale. I've probably got over 100 rolls on hand right now. As my mom's mom used to say, "It ain't gonna eat anything" - i.e., It doesn't cost you anything to keep it. ______________________________________________________________ I am Brutus. I had 2 large Sears catalogues on hand for emergencies.(back in the day) Granted the paper ain't soft like Charmin.. however in a pinch...it does the trick. Always kept a catalogue at my cabin up north...also. I had an outhouse on the property. Twas a three holer. Dem was da daze. Why? While waiting for the little brown chew chew...I would thumb through the ladies section.

I don't see food runs, I see folks buying up a ton of stuff to drop off at churches and other organizations to run up to WNC to help out with the hurricane recovery effort. The husband of a friend of mine was gathering supplies at TIEC, which is one of many drop off centers and running a few trucks up to Burnsville and then transferred to ATV's to continue on where the roads were non existent. I live 15 miles from the NC border, an hour from Chimney Rock, Lake Lure and Ashville. When Duke energy said the damage "here" was catastrophic, I can't imagine what NC is going thru. Roads were blocked by fallen trees and power lines. We had no power for 5 days, others still have none and internet just came up for me about 2 hours ago. Cold weather is moving in, the needs are many. Charcoal, camp stoves, matches, tarps, socks, blankets, etc. are hot items. For the most part, our roads are "cleared" and traffic lights are now working. My next trip to Walmart is to fill some of those items, so if you see any sock shortages, and can't find any anywhere, it's me.

Poodles, everything was fine. My house is still fairly new and the small trees I've planted are still standing, no shingles lost. I did buy a generator that arrived the day the power came back on and my neighbor was kind to let me plug into her Generac so I didn't lose anything in the freezer. Went to Ingles to grocery shop on Monday. Ingles is akin to Fred Meyer without the design decor section. Ingles' distribution center is in Black Mountain, NC. Flooded. I don't think my store has a back up generator, so a lot of stuff was probably spoiled. I think Florida businesses are required to have them, but not here in SC. Perishable items were sparse, but starting to restock. Something for all to consider and not jump to conclusions about shortages. Same with the little farm stands, not much damage to the local farmers, so those stands are beginning to reopen as well as local farms for milk, eggs, etc. Picked up socks and knit gloves for all ages and will wait to see what other things are needed on the list this week. I need to make a Costco run tomorrow or Friday, so I will get a chance to see how things are in the more populated area
