Reviews have been breathless. I'm going to wait a bit and go see the IMAX once the crowds thin a bit.

I will always have a place in my heart for the old film, though. It gets way too much hate.

YES! So glad to hear this. Have watched Dune 1 about 10 times, and am so ready for Dune 2.

Read the book when I was a teenager, the original movie was good in the 4 hour version.

I also, will be waiting to go see it in IMAX, can't wait.

I haven't watched Dune 1. Sounds like I need to.

I thought the first one was lame as hell.

Shitty special effects even for that era.

The first one didn't move me, but I will probably still watch this eventually. I guess I have read the books too many times for anybody's movie to feel satisfying. They did a good job capturing the book in Part 1, but it is still a really hard book to put to film, because the little things matter so much.
