Damn.

If Chicken Little isn't careful his head is gonna fly off and go rolling down the road.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but what he predicted for here in the South is a very typical weather pattern for late winter/early spring - cooler, clearer weather warming up to a storm front coming through. And pretty much *ANY* time you have thunderstorms here in the South you've got a pretty fair chance of tornadoes, even this time of year.

One of the worst storm systems to hit my general area was actually in the dead of winter - Jan. 10, 1975 - with an F-4 tornado destroying big parts of the town just south of me about 25 miles.

The pic shows the hospital still standing while a strip mall less than a quarter of a mile away was pretty well obliterated.

He does seem a tad excitable doesn't he. Dunno where he gets his predictions. We can't even get accurate real time weather info. Anything for yootoob clicks. 1dunno1 When I was a kid I remember family planning weddings & reunions 6 months out, by the Farmers Almanac. Grandma always said it was magic.

Ironically, a guy named Woodie Assaf, who was from that town in the pic, was the weatherman at our major NBC affiliate here in MS for almost 50 years, was *NOT* a meteorologist, but was correct *AT LEAST* as much as all these educated yahoos nowadays.

He was a Mississippi icon.

FWIW, I have been following this kid for a couple of years now. Despite the screeching headlines, he has been spot on with his predictions.

Give him a chance.

we're about to find out.. just a few more days. getting ready. always pretty much well stocked on everything, spent the day splitting wood & kindle & getting it into the garage. I like snow. what I don't like and why I won't go back to east of the continental divide is tornadoes & the oppressive humidity w/heat. I had to go to Florida once. I stayed not a second longer than it took to deplane, check-in to the hotel, sleep, attend a baby christening, and back to the airport rtfn. couldn't get out of there fast enough.
it's not the heat, it's the humidity. panic
