Viewers of This Morning were left puzzled when a man claiming to have the "world's smallest penis" appeared on the sofa during Wednesday's episode of the ITV programme.

Michael Phillips, 38, has a member that measures just 0.38 inches, significantly below the average size of 5.5 inches.



The North Carolina resident recently sought medical advice after years of complications caused by his micropenis. He shared with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard the difficulties it has posed throughout his life.

He said: "I was probably in high school, and dealing with girlfriends and stuff like that, I thought I was a late bloomer, maybe one day it would be normal size. But it never happened."

When Ben questioned whether he could discuss this with his family, Michael, who also disclosed that he was adopted, confirmed that, regrettably, it was a topic he felt unable to broach.


He continued: "I kept it to myself, when I was in my teens and twenties, I was always single even though I had friends. They wondered why I wasn't dating and I didn't want to go through that."


While it wasn't really an issue during his youth because he avoided the subject, Michael explained that it has certainly affected his personal life as an adult and revealed some of the unexpected challenges he faces daily. He said: "I kept it secret, I didn't get picked on because nobody knew.


"I can't go out and have a one night stand but it also affects my ability to use a restroom, my confidence. Even sitting down can be tricky with the clean up and everything. I've tried everything possible. You can be upfront, you can try to talk to somebody, sometimes you don't say nothing at all."
