CharlieOff to Florida
On that note.......
We sure could use some new meat here. Any chance the doors could be opened up to see if we can get some new blood? Seems like all we get lately is Shinman posting to himself.
Wish me the best. With this kidney disease bullshit and being on dialysis I have no idea if I will get to do it again next year. I will be down there for the next 3 months in the sun. Fishing my brains out. Nice little town in the panhandle. Laid back old Florida atmosphere.

Ginger QuillCatch a lot of fish, eat and drink too much and have a great time. Yes, lots of pics.
Too bad we all can't get together and have a UB Boondoggle.

Let me consult with the poodle. Seems like every time we open things up, bots flood in. But worth an effort.
Have fun!

JefinerYour wish is my command.
I went ahead and enabled new registrations, but am requiring manual approval. Hopefully that will help with the bots.
May the odds be ever in your favor.

IMO......BEST stretch of beach in the lower 48. The sand is finely crushed quartz crystal from the Mississippi flowing out into the Gulf of Mexico. Stuff squeaks under your feet as you're walking along.....and white as can be !!
Check out the live cam during daylight hours folks....maybe you'll see Charlie fishing off the pier @ Navarre Beach !!

Traitor VicHave fun. If you are gulf side, beware of Stephen King. He wanders down that way quite a bit.
If you are Atlantic side, watch for Nancy Pelosi. She fears climate change so much she bought herself a beach house.
If you are in the Keys, Jimmy Buffet is dead, man. He won’t be strolling by. RIP Jimmy
Best time for a Florida visit. Anyway, like I said have fun.

Traitor VicOh shit! You said a nice town in panhandle, not a nice town to panhandle. I thought you were there to be a beach bum.
The panhandle is very nice. Pretty much the best. Not as many weirdos.

JombiGlad you are in and settled. The panhandle is very nice, love the white sand beaches there. The availability of fresh GOM seafood makes for some good eatin'! Enjoy your stay, relax, fish, have fun! Depending on where you are in the panhandle, there are several Busy Bee stores. They have great fudge and other snacks. Totally worth stopping in if you're in the area.

What kind of fish are you after? And what are you using for bait?
We live in MS now just north of the coast. When I was a kid, we lived in DeFuniak Springs Florida, in Walton County. My Dad built a whole lot of condos, gas stations and other building down on the beach in the Panhandle.

CharlieAnother neat feature here. We have this woman called "The Shrimp Lady". She delivers shrimp fresh off the boat. $9.00 bucks a pound. Sometimes many of them are still twitching. You can't get fresher than that. Large ones or mediums. Whatever the boat caught that day. Oh...Appalchia oysters. Same thing. Harvested the same day. And the fish....dittos. Whatever is swimming around and horney to get caught. The one fish I cannot handle is spanish mackeral. IMHO only good for cat food.

Ginger QuillMmmm. Shrimp Diavalo. Cooked it for Christmas Eve dinner and New Year's. I bought a 4# bag of frozen at Costco and paid a little over $40 so you're getting a great deal for fresh caught. I'm not an oyster fan, they're still alive when you cook them.
Hope your weather is good, it's been raining here for days but at least it's not freezing.

CharlieI love eating oysters raw. Freshly popped out of the shell. My wife hates this as she describes it like swallowing cum. I am proud to say I have never had that experience. If I get a kidney I have been informed that I will never again be able to eat anything rare.
