What are you having/making for supper?
Just wondering.

I'm making a mushroom, ham and swiss Impossible pie with peas and carrots on the side.
Pretty low carb.

How do you decide what to make?
Thats what drives me bonkers trying to figure it out every day, day in and day out.

I do have 2 days where I make the same things every week.
Fridays I make baked Italian hoagies
Saturdays I make homemade pizza.

Its the rest of the week. We don't go out to eat. 1) its too expensive and 2) never know if the ebt/bonnet brigade will show up and disrupt the place.

I had some frozen shrimp that needed to be used up so we're having cooked shrimp, oven fries and cole slaw for supper today.


I have a family size pack of chicken breasts that need used up so I'll be thawing those out for a couple of days in the fridge and I'll bake them off for meals in the future.

We had bison sloppy joes w/french fries.. our homemade 'joe sauce', fresh baked bread, & fries cooked in coconut oil. If you cook w/coconut oil the food does not taste like coconut & you can fry at higher temps.

Having precooked meat in the freezer is VERY handy! Our vacuum sealer crapped out gotta replace it. It lasted a long time though.

Sloppy joes sound good. I'll have to remember that when it gets cooler.

The weather here is still in summer mode so we're having lighter meals still.

I'll be making a stir fry today with lots of vegetables and mushrooms.

Its saturday that means home made pizza.

I let my bread machine make the dough.
Actually thats pretty much what I use my machine for just making bread and pizza dough.Not baking it.


Tomorrow I'll marinate the chicken breasts in some olive oil, white wine, garlic and a mix of herbs. Then bake them off.

sounds really good! I think we're gonna do bison burger pizza tonight.. my cheese order came last week. nordiccreamerydotcom has fantastic parmesan, not too impressed w/their mozz, but the parm is amazing. had grilled bacon/parm cheesy sandwiches on homemade bread yesterday. nom nom

re: bison burger... I'll never go back to hamburger. bison is soooo much better. waaaay less grease w/a mellow meaty flavor. love it.

I love parmesan cheese.
Its my all time favorite.
I could eat slices of that all day lol

I'm making some fried chicken, mashed potatoes/gravy, and glazed carrots for sunday supper.
Grocery store had whole chickens on sale for $1.97 lb so I bought a couple 3 lb ones.
Have another one in the freezer for another time.
