Had to change dentists with my new plan.
Old, reliable dentist (to many movie stars) in Toluca Lake was my guy for nearly 20 years.
So I had to sign up with an 'approved' on plan dentist nearby.
Went in today--got the 'free xrays' and free 'exam--then had the 'meeting' with the office manager in his office.
At this time warning bells go off.
Supposed to get in-plan, free cleanings every six months.
Instead this fucker shows me a laundry list of shit I supposedly need.
Suddenly the cleaning goes from 'provided' to $100.00 per 'quadrant' for a total of 400 hondos.
The total for all the shit they were trying to sell me is over 1000 hondos.
I had a 'what-the-fuk' moment, grabbed the estimate and walked out.
Later came back for a copy of the xrays--which they gave me with dirty looks.
My regular dentist is going to charge 100 hondos for the cleaning. Period.
Appointment is in the AM tomorrow--maybe some famous movie star will also be in the waiting room again.
What I have come to realize is that this dental plan (Delta) runs this plan as a scam.
They steer you into 'approved' providers of which they assign you to.
The free xrays, exam and bi-annual cleanings are covered with a small co-pay.
However, this is provided as a 'loss-leader' into further procedures which the plan dentist hustles you into.
The in-plan costs of the further procedures are more expensive (co-paid) than if you paid cash to a regular provider.
Franchise provider? Perhaps?
The Delta system is completely fucked up.
My dental with United Healthcare is better than that. It's part of Medicare.
So is mine
|What Can Go Wrong|
Here the issue is always the "In Network" bullshit. Being fairly rural the so called "networks" have limited providers. We have the same issue with our optometrists. You stay "in network" covered. So what if some third world dot head who cannot speak English. You want to stay with a provider you trust. Out of pocket muthafugger!
Update on this... filed a grievance with the main insurance carrier against Delta. They were surprised to hear about this BTW. This provider it seems is taking advantage of patients with his hard sell practices.
Any action against the provider?
Ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh “many movie stars” oooohhhhhh
OP (you know, the one who is wrong about most everything), must think himself really, REALLY important!!
I know I am VEEERRRYYYYY impressed, and I’m sure everyone else is too!
(Now he’ll come back with something related to his collection of bags full of dicks, because he is just funny like that)
What’s not to love? A queer collector who is pretty much always wrong, about pretty much everything. Don’t get much better.
Or, does it?
Shinmen, Breezy, I still don't quite understand why you failed to answer the desperate calls for help from your Flag Waving friends in Oregon?
Of course--it is obvious that you haven't sucked your bag of dicks today.
Not yet, just did it Monday.
Got a letter from my provider over the weekend.
They are now investigating this dental group presently.
I expect them to drop them from their list of providers and to get a refund from my out of pocket expenses.
